Whippet Muzzle with Integrated Stool Guard - is currently on backorder. You may still purchase now though and we'll ship within two weeks.

We are currently working on designing and manufacturing this muzzle in-house!  It will be made of non-toxic plastic with veg-tanned leather straps.

We've had a large demand for this item, so we're working as quickly as we can to make a high quality product.  If you'd like to know when they're available, send us a quick email at sharon@hound-safe.com and we'll be happy to notify you when they are!

This muzzle comes without any nose padding.  However, if you would like nose padding added, we are happy to do that! After adding the muzzle to your cart, come back to choose the Customized Nose Padding from the related products section.

The padding will be made from soft leatherette, like our Double-Padded Greyhound Muzzles have.  The padding will be black, with a fine, natural leather texture, with no printing unless you type in your dog's name.  If you provide your dog's name, we'll print it on the nose leather prior to attaching to the muzzle.

 Size Guide

If your dog isn't a Whippet, gauge proper fit by measuring your dog as shown in the Measuring Guide.  This muzzle will fit dogs in these size ranges:

  • Nose Length: 6 - 9 inches
  • Head Size:  8 - 11 inches
  • Muzzle Diameter:  up to 8.5 inches

If your dog has Nose Length above 9 inches or a Head Size more than 11 inches, then this muzzle will fit with one of our extension straps.  Muzzle Diameters over 8.5 inches should not use this muzzle as your dog must be able to open his mouth to pant and yawn.

The plastic basket may be cleaned with warm, soapy water, being careful not to get the leather components wet.  If the leather does get wet (because some dogs like to play in the rain, too!), let it dry and then treat with a non-toxic leather conditioner.

Here is a fantastic 4-minute video showing how to teach your dog to tolerate having the muzzle put on:
